STSCM(SS) Hamilton T. Felt

Chief of the Boat

Master Chief Felt is a native of Snohomish, WA and a graduate of Snohomish High School, he enlisted as a Sonar Technician (Submarines) on 28 Sep 1999. Upon completion of Basic training, Basic Enlisted Submarine School, and Sonar Technician ‘A’ school, STSCS Felt reported to the USS GEORGIA BLUE (SSBN-729B) stationed in Bangor, WA.

Prior to the SSGN conversion of the GEORGIA, STSCS attended BSY-1 ‘C’ school in Groton, CT where he advanced to STS2. Reporting to USS MIAMI (SSN-755) as the lead system technician, he conducted two Northern Atlantic deployments and one 5th Fleet Deployment. During this challenging and rewarding sea tour he was advanced to STS1 and in 2009 was hand-selected to COMSUBGRU TWO detachment SSEP in Groton, CT where he was a Master Groom Specialist and conducted operations onboard USS TEXAS (SSN 775) surfacing at the North Pole. 

In 2012 he transferred to the USS BREMERTON (SSN 698) in Honolulu, HI where he conducted one WESTPAC deployment until August of 2014 when he was selected for advancement to Chief Petty Officer and transferring to the USS JEFFERSON CITY (SSN-759), stationed out of San Diego, CA. Onboard the JEFFERSON CITY, he conducted one extended WESTPAC deployment, and a subsequent change of homeport to the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard in Honolulu, HI.

Six months into JEFFERSON CITY’s shipyard period, he conducted an inter-squadron transfer to the USS GREENEVILLE (SSN-772) and conducted one WESTPAC deployment and was selected for advancement to Senior Chief Petty Officer. From November 2017 to June 2019, he was again hand selected as member of the COMSUBPAC Combat Readiness Evaluation Team until his transfer to PCU NEW JERSEY as the Chief of the Boat.

Master Chief Felt’s personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (2) and the Navy Achievement Medal (9). He currently resides in Suffolk, VA and is married to his lovely wife Lisa from Bristol, CT and his three sons Jonathan-20, Dominick -16, and Hadrian-11.
