John Koejr

John graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1986 with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and started his career as a junior officer in the U.S. submarine force. He attended nuclear power school in Orlando, FL, prototype training in Ballston Spa, NY, and submarine school in Groton, CT, before reporting to the USS Cincinnati (SSN-693) in Norfolk, VA. He served on “CinciFish” during operations in the Mediterranean Sea, Atlantic Ocean, and Caribbean Sea, shipyard maintenance periods, and operational readiness inspections. He also crossed the Arctic Circle and became a “Blue Nose”. He qualified in Submarines and as Engineer Officer.

After the Navy John held leadership roles as a project engineer and manager in the commercial nuclear power industry, a senior project manager in the submarine telecommunications cable industry, and an association executive with nonprofit technical societies, including the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Executive Director at the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), and Executive Director at the Southern California Contractors Association (SCCA). Presently John serves as a consultant and executive coach.

John has been a resident of Hillsborough, New Jersey since 1999. He served as Scoutmaster with Boy Scout Troop 489 and currently serves as a U.S. Naval Academy Blue and Gold Officer and on the Service Academy Nomination Board for New Jersey’s U.S. Senators. John and his wife Melissa have three adult sons, all graduates of Hillsborough High School, Mechanical Engineers, and Eagle Scouts.
